About Open Source Tickets
Free, open source event ticketing — no added fees for organizers, no added fees for guests.
Why we built this
Mainstream ticketing platforms tack service fees, processing fees, and delivery fees onto every single ticket — often 15–25 % of face value — money that comes out of artists', venues', and organizers' pockets, or gets passed straight to guests.
Open Source Tickets was built to make that unnecessary. You self-host it for free on Vercel and Firebase's free tiers, connect your own email address, and issue professional QR-code tickets to your guests at zero cost. No middleman, no percentage, no hidden charges.
What the platform does
- Create and manage events with banner images and Markdown descriptions.
- Issue QR code tickets by email — with a PDF download fallback — the moment a request is approved.
- Limit tickets to one per email address, with Gmail dot/plus-tag deduplication so the limit can't be gamed.
- Build a door team: invite co-organizers and doormen with per-event role-based access.
- Scan tickets at the door with any phone camera, right from the browser — no app required.
- Deny entry, reset scans, or ban attendees from all events when needed.
Open source
The full source code is MIT-licensed and publicly available. You can inspect every line, fork it, modify it for your community, or run your own instance. We believe event organizers shouldn't have to trust a black box with their attendee data.
Your data stays yours
Open Source Tickets does not run ads, does not sell user data, and does not collect data for profit. All information stored — attendee emails, ticket records, account details — exists solely to deliver the service. You own your event data and your attendees' information.
